Independent Living Services
Independent Living provides support to individuals able to live in unsupervised living settings. Typically, people receiving this support live with a roommate, a spouse, or by themselves. Assistance is tailored to meet the individual's needs and provided in the person's home or in the community. People receiving Independent Living Services work on objectives of their choosing which may include money management, meal planning/preparation, shopping, accessing community resources such as the doctor or social activities, home safety and/or parenting. Services are designed to help individuals become integrated in the community and as self-sufficient as possible.
Independent Living Services are funded by San Diego Regional Center. Hours can vary from as little as a few hours per month to several hours per day. Individuals who require more than 59 hours per month may be more appropriately served through our Supported Living Services.
