Supported Employment Services
OUR PHILOSOPHY IS TO PLACE AND TEACH JOB SKILLS THAT PROMOTE INDEPENDENCE AND SELF-RELIANCE…
Supported Employment helps assure a good workplace fit for employers and adults with developmental disabilities, offering individual and group employment opportunities with careful oversight from our qualified staff. Community Interface Services provides job placement and coaching for participants, and support and education as requested for employers and co-workers. Supported Employment is funded through the California Department of Rehabilitation and San Diego Regional Center and accredited by CARF, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Both individual and group work programs are available.
Supported Employment - Individual Placement
The Individual Placement service provides one-to-one placement and coaching. The philosophy is to teach job skills that promote independence and self-reliance. Therefore, job coach support decreases as the individual becomes more comfortable and more skilled at his/her individual job.
Supported Employment - Group Placement
Group Placements consist of a group of three to eight people hired by the same employer. Group Placements are paid employment and include the ongoing support of a job coach at all times.
Supported Employment can offer significant benefits for qualified employers. If you are an employer looking for additional information on hiring trained, entry level workers, reducing turnover rate and lowering training costs, please see the fliers below to find out how!
